As a former senior political appointee, founding member Alais Griffin brings first-hand experience with the White House, U.S. Congress, and executive branch agencies. Her unique insights into regulatory compliance, regulatory development, and other government processes, including federal financing programs and federal grants, have helped clients in a variety of government and public policy matters. She has served as an expert witness in transportation litigation; drafted comments on proposed rules, notices of inquiry, and petitions for rulemaking; and assisted with regulatory compliance. Alais has represented clients in a wide variety of enforcement, compliance, and financing matters before a number of federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of Transportation, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, the Federal Transit Administration, and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, and has helped clients understand and comment on rules published by other federal agencies, including the Federal Maritime Commission and the Small Business Administration.
Alais’s experience also includes assisting with the development and implementation of FCPA compliance initiatives for multinational companies. She has spoken both in the United States and abroad on compliance related-topics and has been published widely on regulatory and compliance matters.
